Sneaky politics

FUNDING for Clyde Road is one of the most important local infrastructure issues in our area.

Claims from potential Labor candidates that I voted against funding for Clyde Road are dishonest and quite frankly, absurd.

These attacks are an attempt to manipulate local sentiment about an important local issue.

The Coalition moved amendments to the Nation Building Program Bill last week but did not vote against one single dollar of funding. In fact, the legislation, which is expected to pass both Houses of Parliament this week, did not focus on the authorisation of the allocation of funding at all.

I don’t care for sneaky politics and I am certain residents don’t care for it either.

Our community simply wants Clyde Road fixed which Labor promised to do during the 2007 election.

I intend to continue to keep Labor to its word - not to be distracted by political game playing and to ensure that this important local infrastructure is delivered.

Jason Wood,

La Trobe MP.
