EMERALD’S Cornish Road will soon be sealed.

A special charge scheme involving eight landowners will ensure the road is sealed from end to end.

An eight-lot subdivision is currently taking place on the north side of the road, which will see most of the road constructed, including kerb and channel on the north side.

However, several sections of road won’t be sealed as part of the subdivision project so the special charge scheme is needed to complete 260 metres of kerb and channel on the south side of the street.

Landholders abutting the southern side of Cornish Road have agreed to contribute about $1653, and owners of larger properties up to $3,564 each to the project.

The Cardinia Shire Council will put forward $9,859, about a third of the estimated $29,576 cost.
