Members struggle to get through the cold

24th June 2009 02:00:26 AM

THE recent cold weather may have been too much for some, as numbers were a bit down at the Berwick Senior Citizens’ meeting on Friday 19 June.

It was good to see Betty Broderick back again, while Vera Giles was away sick.

Door prizes went to Wilma Clark and Hilda Boening. The meat tray raffle was won by Win James, the voucher went to Hilda Boening.

There was no bingo as the club was entertained by John Robson, whose show brought well-deserved applause.

The Midway Club of Beaconsfield is to provide a bus to Moonee Valley Races in July, and members were invited to join.

Inquiries to Lorna Bird on 9707 2618.
