Rotary vocational director John Williams awards James Begelhole for winning the Pride of Workmanship Award 2009.

THE ROTARY Club of Kooweerup Lang Lang recently announced the winners of its 2009 Rotary Pride of Workmanship awards.

Kooweerup teenager James Begelhole was awarded the Pride of Workmanship Award. The 18-year-old works with his father at Lang Lang Panels and regularly races his Torana at Phillip Island.

The Community Services Award went to Cynthia Gane for her outstanding contribution to the Lang Lang community. She has been a member of almost every club and organisation in the rural township over the last two decades. Ms Gane is currently a member of the traders’ association and the scribe of the group’s fortnightly newsletter.

Dee Candy of Lang Lang’s Bendigo Community Bank branch was awarded the Customer Services Award.

The bubbly local was unable to make the presentation at the Palace Hotel Lang Lang on 17 June, so members of the Rotary club presented her with the award at the bank the following day.
