A MENTAL health forum will be held at the Balla Balla Community Centre next month.

The Dandenong, Casey, Cardinia Mental Health Network has organised the forum, which has been designed to clarify what assistance is available for people with mental illnesses and their families and carers.

Psychiatrist Doctor Ruth Vine will be a guest speaker as well as Anne Doherty from Southern Health MH Services.

Another aim of the forum is to encourage a sense of confidence and hope in carers and people with mental illness.

A person with a mental illness will share a personal story and there will be time for questions and discussion.

The forum will be held on 21 April from 6.30pm to 9pm at the Balla Balla Community Centre at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road in Cranbourne East.
