Winners Ron Horne, Robert Yates, President Pakenham and District Golf Club Rob Nobelius, Gordon Mackenzie, and Jim Welsh.
MORE than 100 spectators witnessed an historical victory at the Pakenham and District Golf Course on Saturday 20 February, with the home team winning the Pakenham Plate for the fourth consecutive year.
The team aggregate event attracts players from around the region but it was the local team made up of Ron Horne, Robert Yates, Gordon Mackenzie and Jim Welsh who outplayed a competitive field in windy conditions to take home the 2010 trophy.
Pakenham and District Golf Club manager Jason McQualter said the club was thrilled to have retained the trophy.
“This was our 26th year hosting the Pakenham Plate and we couldn’t be happier with the result,” McQualter said.
“The support of competitors, the club’s organising committee and the generous assistance from Cardinia Lakes enabled the club to deliver another successful event for the season.”
